Chapter 2: A misfit friend

The bell rang loud and Jamie hurriedly went out of the empty girl's bathroom, hoping no one heard of the boom sound made by her apparation. She felt for her wand at her right pocket and sprinted across the corridors full of students going to their first lessons of the day. then, Jamie reached her classroom and there she met her closest and oldest friends in school, Raimund Jost.

Raimund was a brown, curly haired and cheerful 16 year old who looks like a "Germanized" Nick Jonas to Jamie and just about everyone else.
Raimund loves to play guitar, read science books, listen to his ipod video, is a class valedictorian and he also had this kind of "girlish" aura in him, in Jamie's opinion. Ever since they were in their junior high years, Raimund is like Jamie's beauty adviser and shopping companion. He always gives her tips on the best kind of make up for her and he is Jamie's favorite shopping mate. they go around Hamburg's shopping centres and shop around and eat out. Although behind Raimund's back, he is being teased by his other friends for being so "gay", Jamie feels annoyed at his backbiting friends and she always defend him deeply. She bickers at them "So what, at least he'd make a better man than you guys do, in my opinion..." Despite of Raimund being Jamie's closest friend, he knows nothing and had no clue about Jamie being a wizard.

"Hallo Raimund..." Jamie said in German as she sat down at her desk besides Raimund's, Raimund was wearing a thick Tribal hoodie and Diesel denims. "Hallo Jamie, how's your morning?" Raimund asked in German. "Oh, it was okay. 'twas kinda crowded in the subway this morning that's why i came a bit late..." she said. whenever Jamie applied magic in something she did, she would make up excuses to cover up when she'll be asked by everyone unless it was her dad, of course. Raimund saw Jamie's hair a bit messy. "Oh Jamie, your hair is a bit unruly. im gonna fix it in a heartbeat..." Raimund concerned. Jamie think it was from apparating why her hair became a bit messy but Jamie was quick that she put her hand in her pocket and then grabbed her wand. she made a circle with her wand inside her pocket and instantly, her hair became tidy. "No need to do it Ray, it looks good now." Jamie smiled. then their teacher for their first period, a long red haired and blithe young man called sir Ian Listing came. Mathemathics was their first period for today and it was one of the "highlights" for the day for Jamie and Raimund since sir Listing was one of their favorite teachers since he never fails to amuse them with all of his gags and jokes, which made math time really fun also he is also a great bassist and he is once a part of a band when he was younger. As their class adviser as well, sir Listing first gave the class a roll-call and checked out who's late. fortunately, no one was late so sir Listing went on with the lesson about logarithms. He briefly explained about it and they made them play a very cool game about logarithms. Everyone quickly grabbed a sheet of paper and pen and then started the game. Whoever wins first gets plus 5 points in the upcoming final exams which are a week away. Though logarithms was hard without scientific calculators, they all had fun and Raimund won the game since he gets along with math very well even without using scientific calculators, which made Jamie really prouder of her best friend. So what if he's kinda gay?? at least he's really good in math, she thinks, and it is one of her phrases when defending Raimund when he's being backstabbed by his awful friends. Then the bell rang and sir Listing bid them all good bye, much to Jamie and Raimund's dismay because their favorite teacher and adviser was leaving them to their next period teacher miss Charm Franz, a petite woman in her 30s who had an eminent background as a Cum-Laude graduate of the University of Paris with the course of Secondary Education major in Science, minor in French. Their second lesson was Physics and it was a bit boring compared to what they had a while ago in Math with sir Listing. Miss Franz made them answer some tedious exercises that took them very long to answer each questions. some equations, explainations and solutions to be put in to support their answers. Jamie even wished there's a spell to make her answer all these dreary questions fast but time flied ahead and the bell rang. Miss Franz made them continue the exercises as a homework for them. Their next period was something they look forward to a bit and it was considered a classic favorite, especially to those school slackers: Recess time.
Everyone went out of the classroom in a frenzy and made the corridors crowded again. as Jamie and Raimund walked together in the corridors, they came across mean girl Aslana Gecim and her group of mean, giggly gal pals.

Aslana was a very conceited and lewd girl with Turkish origins. She is on the same year level with Jamie but she is from a different section. Ever since Jamie arrived at Hamburg, Aslana hated and scorned her deeply. aside from being arrogant, she is known to be one of the lewdest girls in Hamburg Central School. She is rumored to have hooked a lot of guys and once she got really famous in cyberspace for hooking up with a famous young German singer but that proved to be a bogus by an unknown fan from Berlin who knows the singer very well. That singer was Johannes Trümper from the German pop-rock band "Die Argyles". Unfortunately, a few believed on the unknown fan and fans accepted Aslana more as a more reliable fact although they are already green with jealously. "Poor them..." Jamie thought of Johannes' other fans. She didn't believed at all these days. maybe she is just jealous-Aslana say. Both Jamie and Aslana are infatuated with him for a long time and that is maybe one of the reasons why they are bitter with each other.
Aslana was standing with her cronies Denise and Mara in the corridors. They were vigorously gossiping about a girl from the first year until they got a glimpse on Jamie and Raimund. Denise was a slightly curvy, blond haired girl and Mara was the kind of stereotypical Italian girl- short, dark haired and olive skinned. Both of them are Aslana's faithful "sidekicks" and they follow what Aslana wants them to do. Aslana and her friends looked at the two maliciously...
